Welcoming the Rev Craig Dobney to Comrie and Dundurn

On a historic night for Comrie & Dundurn parish churches, the Rev Craig Dobney was ordained in the  ministry of the Church of Scotland and inducted as parish minister for the linked charge of Comrie and Dundurn. The 54 year old ex Air Force man was resplendent in tartan and was accompanied by his wife Donna and members of his family. Craig is very much looking forward to being part of the community particularly once he settles into the manse early next year.

The service of Ordination & Induction can be viewed for the next three weeks at the Perth presbytry website follow this link and you can also download the order of service to follow the proceedings.  A presentation was made to Mrs Dobney by Pauline booth , clerk to the nomination committee,  which worked tirelessly to select Craig as the new Minister for Comrie and Dundurn. Craig started work the following day to prepare for the season of advent, which will soon be upon us. His first service will be this Sunday the 22nd of November with the usual booking arrangements in place. The session clerk Murray Lauchlan commented on what a special uplifting occasion this was and how he was looking forward to working with Craig to rebuild the place of the church in the community after the ravages of Covid have hopefully soon passed.
