Isaiah 43: 18-19
18 “Remember not the former things,
nor consider the things of old.
19 Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert.
If your life is normal at the moment, you are not doing things right! So says one of the slogans, but change is nothing new; after all were it not for people advocating for change we would still be living in caves. But the current changes being imposed on society are extreme and unprecedented.
The advice of Isaiah holds true, basically he is saying we are where we are, the old is gone so let’s get with the new. It will be good because God is in charge and what we now consider to be desolation will be restored to something greater than it was before.
Lord God our loving Father in Heaven, may we trust in your goodness, may we look not for the desert but for the rich rivers bringing life and restoration.
In your Mercy hear our prayer
